Graduation

jailgraduation.JPG

This is graduation for 7 delighted inmates of the Ablemarle Regional Jail.   We spent 2 hours each week for 6 weeks in which time, each of these ladies learned to knit.   They are so proud of the adorable little premie hats and booties that were completed by each to be donated to the UVA hospital in Charlottesville, VA.

These gals worked really hard and will continue by making some baby buntings to match the hat and bootie sets.   Each of these ladies feel that knitting is now a goal to continue once they return to their respective homes……soon, we all hope.   We wish them all the best.

All patterns look special–just change the yarn.

What a Great first Project
Rebecca Thompson creation on the first project. As you can see the different yarns change the look of the project –  Just beautiful.

Where is the Best Place to Knit??

working in woods.jpg   Anywhere!

Who said we have to knit in our rocking chairs?    How  cool for this knitting board knitter  relaxing on  a camping trip in Massechusetts!   “I just tossed it into my backpack and was able to really relax after a day of hiking”.

Festival at Brownstown, VA

We were invited to participate in the Redbud Festival with Debra Blankenship.   We had a great time!  It always helps to see it done and this type of festival is great for lots of demos.  Debra is queen of loom knitting and really did a great job with her demos and sharing her new hobby. Just look at all the looms she works on.   It was a cold and rainy day, so we had our table in a shelter, but our double knits brought some attention and kept us warm.

Everyone wants to try on the pretty yellow shawl.

George is there to help and loves the yellow shawl. Well, you can get a nice close up photo of the yellow shawl thanks to George. Check out all the different looms that Debra is working with. Debra says “I’m addicted to looming”. I think she’s right, but maybe, we all are.
